In addition to the regular visits of relatives and friends at which chocolates are served with tea, coffee or indeed soft-drinks, there are numerous occasions when chocolate is served to guests such as the following occasions:
Major Religious feasts.
The holy month of Ramadan when people fast during daytime and socialize at night.

The Birth of a new baby.
When someone falls sick, or has an accident of some sort and then recovers people visit each other for the good recovery of good health.
All these happy occasions are a cause of celebration and rejoicing. This necessitates hospitality in line with Libyan traditions and generosity that is so deeply-rooted in this society. So when people share each other's happiness, they want to do it in style and this is reflected in the manner in which we show our guests how hospitable we are towards.
